Cats don't come with instruction manuals. So what happens when things go wrong?

One in 25 cats will go missing in their lifetime, and more than 70% of cats that end up in shelters have no microchip. Add untreated illnesses, accidental litters, and owners unsure what to do in a crisis, and you have a recipe for heartbreak. The challenge was how to reach people early and give them the confidence to act before disaster strikes.

Part emotional drama, part survival guide

Developed with cat advocate Anne Batley Burton, founder of The New Zealand Cat Foundation, and veterinary advisor Dr Elsa Flint, Cat Angels Triumph is a free browser game that puts players into real-world scenarios: a missing cat without a microchip, an accidental litter, a neighbour frustrated with cats in their garden. Each decision has consequences, teaching microchipping, de-sexing, and responsible care through experience rather than instruction.

By allowing people to make mistakes safely and reflect on the outcomes, the game builds real confidence for when life throws up the same challenges.

Meet the Veterinarian Advisor Behind Cat Angels Triumph

"I think a game like this is important for promoting responsible cat care, because it will help people to remember more and engage with the whole process. I think now, having something more visual and interactive is going to be much more effective and powerful."
